TEMPER ("we," "our," or "the app") is a fitness and body transformation platform. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

When you use TEMPER, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account via Sign In with Apple or email registration.
  • Body and fitness data: Weight, body measurements, body fat percentage, workout logs, exercise history, personal records, meal logs, macro intake, progress photos, and recomp scores that you voluntarily enter into the app.
  • Health data (via Apple HealthKit): With your explicit permission, we read step count, active calories, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and sleep data from Apple HealthKit. We do not write data to HealthKit without your consent.
  • Garmin data: With your explicit permission, we read workout, heart rate, sleep, and activity data from your connected Garmin device via Garmin Connect.
  • AI Coach interactions: If you use the TEMPER Coach feature, your conversation history with the AI coach is stored to provide personalized recommendations.
  • Social data: Posts, comments, reactions, crew memberships, challenge participation, and share cards you create within the app.
  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience.
  • Women's health data: If you opt in, menstrual cycle data including period dates, cycle length, and symptoms to provide cycle-aware training and nutrition recommendations.

2. How we use your data

  • To provide and personalize the TEMPER experience, including workout tracking, nutrition logging, recomp scoring, and progress analytics.
  • To power the AI Coach feature with personalized training and nutrition recommendations based on your data.
  • To enable social features such as the feed, crews, challenges, and share cards.
  • To generate weekly reports and smart milestone notifications.
  • To improve the app through anonymous, aggregated usage analytics.
  • To communicate with you about your account, app updates, and (with your consent) promotional content.

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication is handled through Sign In with Apple and Supabase Auth. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information.

4. HealthKit data

We comply fully with Apple's HealthKit guidelines. Health data accessed through HealthKit is used solely to provide app functionality and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for purposes unrelated to your health and fitness tracking. HealthKit data is not stored on our servers unless explicitly required for features you have enabled (such as recovery scoring).

5. AI processing

The TEMPER Coach feature uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized training and nutrition recommendations. Your fitness data may be processed by third-party AI services to provide these recommendations. We do not sell your data to AI providers and require all third-party processors to maintain strict confidentiality.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Social features: Posts, share cards, and crew content you create are visible to other TEMPER users as determined by your privacy settings.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (Supabase for data storage, AI providers for coaching features) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your data at any time (JSON export is built into the app).
  • Delete your account and all associated data.
  • Opt out of optional data collection (HealthKit, Garmin, cycle tracking).
  • Disable social features entirely using Ghost Mode.

8. Children's privacy

TEMPER is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.

9. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of TEMPER after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
